Daniel Taub first presented the Queen with his credentials after arriving in Britain. He was to be the next ambassador from Israel. However, besides the regular credentials, he also made another statement. He wore his kippah on top of his head. With this statement, he was saying that though he was one of the most prominent and important ambassadors in the country, especially since he was born in Britain himself, there was nothing that could ever sway him from his deeply held religious beliefs as an Orthodox Jew. Those who knew him while he was the ambassador can testify that it was exactly what happened.
In order to become an ambassador for Israel, he had to give up his British citizenship beforehand. The Queen knew this. She wanted to know how it felt to give up the citizenship of the country you were born in so that you can become an ambassador to that country from another country. During an interview, Daniel Taub said that he told her how glad he was to be able to raise his children in the land where his forefathers lived for so many years. At the same time, he knew how good England was to his family, and he wanted to show his appreciation by helping them out in whatever way he could. Learn more: http://il.linkedin.com/in/daniel-taub
